Seven Cambodian Refugees Still Detained by Police in Thailand

Seven Cambodian refugees, who were detained by Thai immigration police at a Paris Peace Agreements training session in Bangkok, are still being held at the immigration detention center, although it has been over two weeks now.

Seven Cambodian Refugees Nabbed by Thai Police Await UNHCR Help

Thai authorities arrested 10 Cambodian refugees while attending the Paris Peace Agreement course in Bangkok on December 29, with seven of them being held at Suan Plu Immigration Detention Center while awaiting intervention by the UNHCR. Three others were released the next day.

STT Report: Forced Evictions in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Takeo Pushed People into Debt Crisis

A report by NGO Sahmakum Teang Tnaut Organization (STT) revealed that people who are forcibly evicted from their homes without proper resettlement are burdened with debt, have low access to food, while children experience disruptive education and are subject to child labor. Experts warned that this would have detrimental effects on the community’s economic and human development.

Boeng Tamok Residents Harassed Again By Authorities Amid Existing Court Cases

A Boeng Tamok community member alleged that her rights were trampled on by the Prek Pnov district authorities on Tuesday afternoon when they violently attempted to dismantle her vegetable stall, which is her only source of income.

LGBT People Continue to Experience High Level of Sexual Harassment At Work

A study on workplace sexual harassment by Banteay Srei and Love is Diversity has found that 30% of women, 37% of men, and 90% of LGBT people have experienced some form of violation at work. Male and female employees of all ages also claimed that they have previously quit their jobs due to sexual harassment and felt uncomfortable going to work.
