Under the labor law, all workers are supposed to receive NSSF benefits. But many construction workers remain unaware of what they are owed by employers and most construction workers are not registered to receive NSSF benefits.

Thousands of households and farmland hit by flooding in northwest

Around 4,000 households have been affected by flooding in northwest Cambodia following weeks of heavy rainfall and flooding that has intensified over the past few days, impacting thousands of hectares of rice paddies, roads and other infrastructure and forcing thousands of families to be evacuated from their homes.

NSSF demands people show proof of vaccination before receiving social security card

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) announced on Sunday that it will not provide social security cards to anyone who does not show proof of COVID-19 vaccination after the Phnom Penh administration put in place measures requiring people to show their vaccination cards upon entering and exiting public and private institutions in the capital.

Cambodians asked to volunteer for rapid test before returning to work after Pchum Ben holiday

The Labor Ministry changed its instructions regarding COVID-19 testing for workers returning from the Pchum Ben holidays next week, saying they would be asked — but not required — to receive rapid tests before returning to work.
