Mondulkiri Court Questions Adhoc Official, Four Bunong Natives After They File Evidence of Forest Clearing 

Mondulkiri provincial court on Monday questioned NGO rights group Adhoc official and four Punong natives after land brokers and fellow villagers filed a defamation and incitement complaint against them. The complaint was made after the suspects submitted evidence of chopped trees and encroachment by the plaintiffs, made up of land brokers and a few villagers.

Police Arrested 3 Bunong Over Land Dispute in Mondulkiri Province

Three Bunong indigenous family members were arrested by Mondulkiri provincial police on Sunday over a land dispute in Chamkar Te Village, Spean Thmor Commune. They were sent to Mondulkiri provincial court for questioning on Tuesday afternoon, according to the human rights organization ADHOC.

Environmentalists question whether crackdown will reach illegal logging’s roots

Heng Sros rides his motorbike across Mondulkiri province, through the Phnom Prich Wildlife Sanctuary, to the Lumphat Wildlife Sanctuary, and finally into the Srepok Wildlife Sanctuary. Sros, an activist for the Cambodia Human Rights Task Force, hasn’t let up on his investigations on illegal logging, though he says his findings are consistently ignored by authorities.
