A former opposition commune chief in Kampong Speu province was arrested and detained on charges of incitement on Thursday in connection with her alleged involvement in the planned return of former Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) president Sam Rainsy on November 9, 2019.

China, Cambodia reject US claims of Chinese cybertheft

China’s embassy in Cambodia has dismissed allegations that Chinese hackers stole data on the Mekong River from Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and turned the table on the United States, calling it the largest source of cyber attacks in the world.

Floating communities receive COVID-19 vaccines after Phnom Penh evictions

Roughly 170 of the largely ethnic Vietnamese people who were evicted from their floating homes in Phnom Penh to Kandal province’s Loeuk Dek district have now been vaccinated against COVID-19. The Association of Khmer-Vietnamese in Cambodia has estimated that about half of the ethnic Vietnamese living in Cambodia had been vaccinated.
