Hun Manet expressed regret over the loss of a highly respected Cambodian figure who commanded “utmost admiration and respect”.

“Throughout his life, Samdech worked tirelessly with wisdom and spirit, making countless sacrifices to uphold and protect national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” according to him in a statement.

“His unwavering commitment has ensured the absolute protection of the throne and the constitutional monarch in Cambodia, safeguarded the nation’s values, religion, and the King, and elevated the prestige of the Kingdom internationally.”

His body has been laid to rest at a funeral home in Prampi Makara district in Phnom Penh.
