Breaking: Senior officials in Banteay Meanchey province confirmed on Monday night that the Thai military has ordered the closure of all border crossings with Cambodia.
Van Daran, Poipet International Checkpoint chief, told CamboJA News at 9 p.m that Thailand ordered “all border crossings with Cambodia to be closed” except to students and medical patients.
Ly Sovannarith, Banteay Meanchey provincial deputy governor and spokesperson, also confirmed the unilateral closure of all border crossings with Thailand.
“It is true that Thailand has issued an order to close the border crossings, prohibiting the entry of travelers, traders, tourists, and vehicles,” he said.
